Talent Hunt for House Manager and Front of House

Overview. SOMA House is an exciting new sociable fitness space of like-minded individuals with its first flagship London location in the heart of Old Spitalfields Market – the hub of where the City meets the Creatives in Shoreditch. We deliver our own specialised cross-training method combining hot yoga, cycling, barre and trx.

Our House is more than a studio. We aim to enhance life in everything that we do. The first thing we ask is what do we want people to feel? We look to work with people with bright, original thinking who know how to deliver the personal touch and bring energy to a space.

House Manager Role. We are looking for an experienced House Manager who has experience in the boutique fitness industry and understands the level of execution needed for running a slick operation.

As House Manager, you oversee the day to day customer experience and must ensure customers have an optimal experience in the delivery of the brand principles of the company. You will understand the extreme attention to detail needed in the backend (ex. class set-ups, cleanliness, how to keep inventories, class schedules, rotas, etc.). You will also have leadership skills and be able to inspire the Front of House team.

The successful candidate will have spunk, drive and light up a room with enthusiasm and positivity. You will have some management experience and proven track record of motivating a team with a Can Do attitude. You will be a self-starter with leadership potential who does not need to be micromanaged.

You will work Thursday-Friday (11:30-7:30pm) and Saturday (9-6pm). You will work along another amazing part-time House Manager who has been with the company for a long time.

Our Must Haves

  • Operational Experience on the day to day running of a fitness and yoga studio or in hotel/leisure industry
  • Customer Service experience in a high performance service culture that ensures consistent excellence in all we do.
  • Staff Management experience so you can effectively lead Front of House staff, cleaners and other contractors
  • Sales and Membership Onboarding Know How

Desirable Experience

  • Management experience required
  • Previous experience in Leisure Boutique Fitness/Hospitality preferred
  • Previous experience in hot yoga studio beneficial to understand heat element
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Extreme attention to detail and well organised
  • High standards of neatness to keep studio always at its best
  • Experience of activities conducted at studio
  • Excellent knowledge of health and safety guidelines and regulations
  • A huge passion for fitness, yoga and people!

Front of House Role

We are looking for energetic, dedicated and experienced Front of House staff to join our team full time.

You will have a love of people, working in teams and have a pro-active “Can Do” attitude. You’ll love SOMA’s activities and regularly participate in our classes.

You will be willing to work 35+ hours a week.
