WEEK 1 – Back to Basics

In the first workshop we will explore the importance of alignment in key yoga postures and understand how to adapt them to our own bodies. We will break down the elements of Sun Salutations and mindfully incorporate breath into movement. Specifically, we will practice Chaturanga with various modifications to help protect your shoulders and back and really strengthen the body to progress further in the pose.

We will also learn the actions, progressions and modification of common standing postures, including Warriors, Crescent Lunge variations, Extended Side Angle, and Triangles. This workshop is suitable for complete beginners and more experienced students who are looking to revisit some of the building blocks of yoga postures and activate the key muscles to create a sustainable and intelligent practice.
